Axonal trajectories of digitally reconstructed striatal neurons[1]



GFP expression was sparsely induced in a total of 30 striatal neurons, imaged with the fMOST system, reconstructed, and registered to the standard brain atlas. This sagittal view of the data shows striatofugal axons in pallidum and nigra. Single-neuron tracing in primates showed that striatal axons terminate along their entire extent in substantia nigra, reticular part.





Morphological and projectional properties of 11 long-range projection neuron types at the single-cell level[2]




We fully reconstructed 1,741 neurons from cortex, claustrum, thalamus, striatum and other brain regions in mice. We identified 11 major projection neuron types with distinct morphological features and corresponding transcriptomic identities.








Quantification of whole brain input to cortical CRH neurons[3]



To uncover the organization of the input circuits of cortical CRH neurons in the whole brain, we acquired the continuous dataset of input neurons at 0.32×0.32×2 μm³ with fMOST serial technologies. To quantify the distribution of input neurons, the datasets were reconstructed and registered to the Allen Brain Reference Atlas.





3D projections of the hypothalamo-neurohypophysial system (HNS)[4]




The hypothalamo-neurohypophysial system (HNS), comprising hypothalamic magnocellular neuroendocrine cells (MNCs) and the neurohypophysis, plays a pivotal role in regulating reproduction and fluid homeostasis by releasing oxytocin and vasopressin into the bloodstream. Using viral tracing and whole-brain imaging, we reconstruct the three-dimensional architecture of the HNS and observe collaterals of MNCs within the brain.
